The group found and removed dozens of oil containers, car parts, lorry tyres, a fridge and even a bottle shaped like a chicken from a footpath near Swanmore. Tyres thrown down a hill by fly-tippers were hauled up and a trailer base was cut up with a disc cutter and removed for disposal.

The popular television show, Grime and Punishment, followed the exploits of a team of volunteer clean-up workers as they removed rubbish from the Meon Valley countryside.

After waiting in vain for local councils to step up to the challenge of waste crime, he created a free app called ClearWaste.com on which members of the public can report rubbish dumped illegally anywhere in the UK. This links automatically to every local authority in the council, allowing them to build a database of dumping hotspots, establish patterns and hopefully catch the criminals.
