A spokesman for Dorset Council said: "We welcome any efforts from members of the public to tackle fly-tipping. If you want to report fly-tipping in Dorset or have any information you would like to share, search for ‘tip-off’ on our website to contact our local enforcement team. Together, we can crack down on this dangerous and anti-social activity."

After waiting in vain for local councils to step up to the challenge of waste crime, he created a free app called ClearWaste.com on which members of the public can report rubbish dumped illegally anywhere in the UK. This links automatically to every local authority in the council, allowing them to build a database of dumping hotspots, establish patterns and hopefully catch the criminals.

Martin Montague, from the Meon Valley invested £250,000 of his own money to create ClearWaste.com in a bid to make it easier for people to report illegally dumped rubbish anywhere in the UK.

Martin Montague came up with an app that makes it easier to report illegally dumped rubbish – and got a trio of TV stars to help promote it. A social media ad for the app stars John Challis, who played Boycie in Only Fools and Horses, Emily Head of The Inbetweeners and Frankie Oatway of the Discover series Strippers: For Cash.

Walkers who regularly exercise their dogs at Scammonden Water near the Pennine stretch of the M62 at Outlane reported piles of trash, discarded food, condom packets and even razor blades in the area. Her comments come as a UK businessman launches a new free app to allow people to combat fly-tipping by instantly reporting the location to their local authority.
